Watch: Girl Rising

The other day, I stopped by Co.Lab, a co-working space based in Manila, that is also known for hosting talks, seminars, or workshops that nurture and cultivate new ideas. That day, they were hosting a screening of Girl Rising, a film that highlights the importance of educating girls in developing countries.

The film featured 9 girls, and told the story of their personal, financial, and societal obstacles, yet ending on a positive note on how they managed to overcome them. (You can check out the stories of Senna from Peru, Suma from Nepal, and Amina from Afganistan here.)

I wanted to share this film on my blog because the message is something that I felt was important to speak about. If you have the chance, I highly recommend you to see this film and support the cause.
