Reflect: TOMS Press Preview in Manila

So the news is out ❤ I am the newest brand ambassador for TOMS Philippines!

It’s been about 6 years since I first started working with TOMS Philippines. Back when I was still working in retail, we were one of the first stores to carry their product back in 2009 when they just launched in Manila.

When I first heard about TOMS, I was really inspired by their One For One mission. I was only 21 when I learned of their brand, and I think that viewpoint had an incredible influence on my outlook for business and charity.

Coming from a fashion background, I was normally exposed to fashion brands focusing mainly on well, fashion. CSR wasn’t really at the forefront of their purpose. But TOMS showed me that it was possible to merge commerce and giving back seamlessly into one’s brand DNA through their One for One model- at a time when social businesses were still new in the landscape.

Growing up in the Philippines, I could really see how relevant this could be in our city. I was always exposed to the need for social outreach or the importance of giving back.

I am in awe of how much they’ve grown their product line since then. From first selling shoes and giving a pair to a child in need, they have also added an eye wear line wherein for every purchase, they help give sight via prescription glasses, sight-saving surgery, or medical treatment.

They also expanded their line to coffee that helps provide clean water access to a person in need. And this year, their newly launched bag line helps provide safe birth to a mother and child in need.

So. Friggin. INSPIRING!!!

Being officially part of the TOMS Philippines family has really widened my perspective and enriched me in so many ways.

I am so excited to announce that we will also be opening a concept coffee shop this year. (More details on that coming soon)
