“Matahari, can you please check your email and give me your thoughts?” This was a message sent to me by my Singapore family last year, and a nickname they crowned upon me since due to my love for strategy.
The original Matahari was an exotic dancer and spy/ double agent during World War I. Not that we are in any war zones, nor am I currently acting as a double agent for any country, but at this moment my mood is this: planning, strategising, and thinking of the next game plan.
History always fills me with inspiration. It is the tales of individuals who make us wonder if it really happened or not. It is the myths that live on that intrigue me. What we choose to remember, record and recall. The traits of a human that we choose to seal as “history.” Because really, who knows. The storyteller is only one point of view.
