Building your own dream is not as easy as I imagined it to be. I’ve been fortunate to assist in so many start-up ideas & businesses within the last few years, but still nothing can prepare me for the journey of being my own “boss.”
Everyday I have to keep making decisions that I didn’t know I had to do. In trying to deal with the overwhelm, I just remember that I have to take things one step at a time.
While on the plane ride to Manila today, I read Pure Green Magazine from cover to cover. I love this new find! This magazine focuses on living a green life in a stylish way.
With it’s fantastic imagery and well-written articles, it doesn’t make one feel like adopting a “Green” lifestyle is difficult to embrace.
I’m not a vegan, but lately I’ve found myself in the company of vegans and health-obsessed inspired friends. (You know who you are!) These friends were raving about this raw food restaurant that recently opened in Singapore. So, my friend and I made our way over to Glow Deli, a deli by day and at night transforms into a bar called Afterglow, where they serve their own healthy cocktails.
One of my biggest inspirations right now for my social enterprise, Change Clothes, is Eco-Age, a brand consultancy group started by Livia Firth, wife of Colin Firth. Eco-Age focuses on creating sustainability programs/campaigns for companies.
Beauty & Depth. I’m glad to see more magazines launching into the media landscape. Yay, print is NOT dead. Porter, the new magazine by Net-A-Porter, is one of the most refreshing magazines I picked up recently.
On my way to the Tiong Bahru market I found this gem: Bloesem.
This store is a real-space, pinterest board. It’s everything I imagine my revamped apartment to look like… With clean lines, minimalist decor, and filled with a nicely curated selection of hand-crafted products from around the world.
The title of this post is from a book I read a few years ago called…. “Never Eat Alone- and other secrets to success one relationship at a time.”
I don’t know why I picked this book up a few years ago, but I do remember that ever since I read that, I make sure to always find a way to share my meals. I just like conversation, and being able to really know someone on a deeper level.
