A few weeks ago I was in Tokio with one of my closest girl friends from Singapore. We decided to spend the Chinese New Year break over there to get some much needed rest, relaxation, and research.

Since we are both interested in the fields of fashion, art, and design, we knew that Tokyo would be a perfect spot to find new ideas. I really take inspiration from all the details from the different spaces; you can really feel how complete the vibe is by just looking at the pictures.

Here are some photos from the trip after the jump.

Photos: Kaws | Clean Slate Exhibition

Kaws Clean Slate Kaws Clean Slate

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while. I haven’t seen a Kaws exhibit since maybe around 6 or 7 years ago in LA, so it was nice to hear that there would be one here in HK. This recent exhibit entitled “Clean Slate” was about “wiping out the past and starting over again.” This 7 meter tall statue, which would usually stand solo, now carries with it 2 youngins- pretty much showing us that he’s moved on to other parts of his life. I could resonate with this theme lately because it does feel like that phase where everyone just wants to hit the refresh button and move forward.

Attend: Jewelle Yeung Exhibit

Cebu, Philippines

Based between Hong Kong and Cebu City, Jewelle Yeung is an undeniably talented artist who will be having an exhibit this September 12th. Her paintings are influenced by the “space between reality and the dream,” which hold the images, emotions, and energies of what is conscious and unconscious at the same time.

Meet: Teresa Herrera, TV Presenter, Actress, & Art Consultant

Teresa Angel

To the public, she is a famous model, TV presenter, actress and now, art consultant. To me, she is my big sister. She’s the person who tells us siblings what books to read, places to go, friends of hers we should meet, and most importantly…. the rules to break.

I wanted to interview Teresa because I often felt like some of the articles I would read about her don’t quite capture “her.” As her youngest sis, I have always had a different point of view when it came to her allure. That’s what I wanted to write here: a glimpse of our relationship, the usual way we speak to each other, and a bit of digging into her other sides that I witnessed growing up.

Excited for you all to meet my family… starting with Teresa.
