Speaking of my recent Japan trip…
Time passed too fast but at the same time, too slow. Where 15 hours could feel like only 5 minutes had gone by, and 5 minutes could feel like it’s been 15 hours…
I find it effortless and non-intimidating for me to jump in and out of this realm. I needed a break from Hong Kong, and the many multiple worlds that exist within this world prove that there is always something new to discover…uncover…recover…
Til next time.

Been in HK for a little over a month, and it feels niiiiiiice.
Since Jan, I feel like I’ve been jumping too fast. I definitely moved at a slower pace the last few weeks (ironic too ‘coz I’m in one of the busiest cities ever.)
I kind of just had to stop and say, “Whats the rush?!” Calm down V. Take time for yourself. Appreciate moments where you get to spend time with your friends, and do things you like to do- like cook in your kitchen or read a book. Sometimes you just need time to chill out and not beat yourself up with guilt over it. I had to learn not to freak out or compare my pace just ‘coz everyone around me is moving faster, while I was slowing down. (After all, hard work isn’t a show. Social media comparisons are the worst!)
So next week I head to Manila again, and I know the minute I land, I will hit the ground running. So better to take the time to breathe and enjoy the present. As I try to find #inspo all around me, I keep my eyes open for what to snap photos of. Sometimes things catch my eye immediately, while sometimes I just have to look a lil’ differently to see something I find beautiful.

Hong Kong was busy.
Here are some photos I took while roaming around with my sis.

First time in Shanghai a few weeks ago for work. Really loved it! Need to go back and really explore it longer. Here are some quick shots I was able to get in between the conference.

Here is my incredibly delayed post about my trip to Boracay last month. But in reality, it feels like 5 months has passed since then because of everything I had to do.
Time has a funny was of speeding up & throwing a million changes in your face all at once. You just have to be ready to catch everything, or as much as you can handle. Jhene Aiko said it perfectly in my recent Listen post, “Life can get wild when… you’re caught in a whirlwind… lost in the world when… you’re chasing the win.” (I’ve been listening to this song a lot. It resonates somehow…)
But anyway, here are some of my photos from my Boracay trip.

Last week, Amanda came to visit, and we took a short trip from HK to Macau to take some meetings. Well, she took the meetings, while I took a breather from the fast-paced current called HK Life. As I’ve never been to Macau before, the only impression I had of it was from the tales of those who have been- they keep saying, “It’s Just Like Vegas.”
While yes, the rise of casinos does remind you of the brightly lit strip, me- on the other hand being the forever wanderer and seeker- was still searching for pockets of what could make this city more than that. A tough challenge considering I was only there for a day.
Maybe my photos can tell a better story…

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while. I haven’t seen a Kaws exhibit since maybe around 6 or 7 years ago in LA, so it was nice to hear that there would be one here in HK. This recent exhibit entitled “Clean Slate” was about “wiping out the past and starting over again.” This 7 meter tall statue, which would usually stand solo, now carries with it 2 youngins- pretty much showing us that he’s moved on to other parts of his life. I could resonate with this theme lately because it does feel like that phase where everyone just wants to hit the refresh button and move forward.

I mentioned a few posts ago that I just moved to Hong Kong. I love this feeling of seeing things for the first time. My eyes are wide open right now. 😉
Here are a few pics from my first few days there…

A lot of these photos are of the quiet moments.
Not literally though, the first photo above was taken while I was crossing the street in NYC, and the next photo above is of strobe lights obviously taken in a club in SG, and that is not a quiet place.
But this post is more of those quiet moments in my head… Because we all know you can be in such a crowded place, but experience such an isolated feeling. And at that point, time freezes and everything around you goes silent.
….and you’re there, watching the moment…..
These are my photos I took during those moments. My Photo Diary after the Jump…
