Explore: Branco Macau

BrancoWhile in Macau, we checked out this really cool multi-brand, lifestyle store called Branco. Carrying brands like Rag & Bone, T by Alex Wang, Pamela Love, Sophie Hulme, Elizabeth and James, and Rebecca Minkoff to name a few, this store hits that sweet spot between the luxury labels or local treasures in the Macau fashion scene, introducing an alternative option for shopping.

Photos: My Macau

Ruins of Saint Pauls

ChillinLast week, Amanda came to visit, and we took a short trip from HK to Macau to take some meetings. Well, she took the meetings, while I took a breather from the fast-paced current called HK Life. As I’ve never been to Macau before, the only impression I had of it was from the tales of those who have been- they keep saying, “It’s Just Like Vegas.”

While yes, the rise of casinos does remind you of the brightly lit strip, me- on the other hand being the forever wanderer and seeker- was still searching for pockets of what could make this city more than that. A tough challenge considering I was only there for a day.

Maybe my photos can tell a better story…

Portfolio: Karina Illovska | Photographer

12 28Karina Illovska is a talented and humble photographer I met in Sydney, who captures the most beautiful images from her travels. While she also takes portraits, home and wedding photos, it is these photos that I feel really capture the “beauty of observing.”

Check out more photos from her portfolio (a mix of photos from her trips to Ghana, India, and Japan) after the jump…Continue reading “Portfolio: Karina Illovska | Photographer”

Photos: Quiet Moments

IMG_9834

IMG_9910A lot of these photos are of the quiet moments.

Not literally though, the first photo above was taken while I was crossing the street in NYC, and the next photo above is of strobe lights obviously taken in a club in SG, and that is not a quiet place.

But this post is more of those quiet moments in my head… Because we all know you can be in such a crowded place, but experience such an isolated feeling. And at that point, time freezes and everything around you goes silent.

….and you’re there, watching the moment…..

These are my photos I took during those moments. My Photo Diary after the Jump…

As I was cleaning my hard drive this week, I found some photos from my Bali trip last December. I was flooded with so many happy emotions (can’t you tell with that monkey on my shoulder??) that I decided to share some photos on my blog.

This trip was my first time in Bali, and for a week, I was able to soak in the culture of Ubud, with my last two days spent relaxing in Jimbaran. Check out my Bali Photo Diary after the jump, with a few highlights of my favorite things to do…

Photos: Tokyo in under 10 hours

IMG_4797 IMG_4793

On our flight back to Singapore from Hawaii, we had a stopover in Japan for 10 hours. (But really, only around 5 hours to roam around after sorting out our flights, switching airports, and taking the train back and forth to the city.) So lovely to be able to visit Tokyo again even for a short bit.

Here’s our short but sweet Photo Diary after the Jump…

Photos: Aloha in Paradise

20140423-155559.jpg20140423-162342.jpgOne week in Paradise.

My cousin Marc got married over Easter weekend in Hawaii. It was my first time to ever visit, and I completely fell in love with the sights of O’ahu. While I mostly stayed within Waikiki, I did manage to take a short road trip to Lanikai beach in Kailua. I am so in awe of nature right now. There are some sights, no matter how many photos you take, you can never really capture it’s beauty. You just have to keep your eyes open and take in all you can.
