I spotted The Woman I Wanted To Be by Diane Von Furstenberg it in the airport bookstore as I was about to board my flight back to Manila. I was always of fan of Diane and her work, more so, her messages about being independent.
I was so curious to learn more about her life and career that I felt like this was a great introduction for anyone who wants to learn more about the character of this highly-praised designer.
I am so addicted to this series! The Conversation with Amanda De Cadenet is one of the shows you can watch over and over again (Thanks YouTube). My girl friends and I have conversations that are exactly/similar to these, however, instead of having your girl friends speak, it’s interesting to hear the same sentiments coming from women like Gwyneth Paltrow, Jane Fonda,Alicia Keys, Zoe Saldana, and Lady Gaga.
What does it mean to really know yourself? How does it feel to cherish your loneliness? Why is it important for women to be financially independent? These are some of the questions that Amanda de Cadenet explores in her intimate series. Amanda is inquisitive yet sensitive, with the amazing ability to get otherwise high- profile and relatively private celebrities to really open up and have some real talk.
Oh and guys, you can also watch this in case your curious to understand how women think 😉 Watch the rest of the first season after the jump…
The other day, I stopped by Co.Lab, a co-working space based in Manila, that is also known for hosting talks, seminars, or workshops that nurture and cultivate new ideas. That day, they were hosting a screening of Girl Rising, a film that highlights the importance of educating girls in developing countries.
